Paradigm Shift (1)
There are two basic ways we get programmed by our paradigms:
- Genetically
- Environmentally
How do I make the shift in my paradigms happen?
A paradigm that has been shaped over a lifetime cannot be simply undone. It has to be systematically approached and worked on.
Scientists and mathematicians have formulated a system called cybernetics. It’s a system of reprogramming; it is the science of communications and automatic control systems in both machines and living things.
Your paradigm is like a cybernetic machine, it will usually resist the change that you’re trying to effect, but you have to take a certain series of steps to ensure that it happens.
Steps to take in shifting your paradigm:
- Breakthrough thinking.
- When you have a new creative/revolutionary idea dropped into your mind, there are two ways we can respond:
- Poverty (failure) thinking/mentality
o What you do here is address this new idea from the premise of your insufficient resources. What the person with this mentality thinks about is what the
- Breakthrough thinking
o What is done here is to think about the benefits & rewards at the end of taking the action that the new idea proposes. What you do here is take the first step.
- Write down the vision/picture of the desired end result/product.
- The clarity of the dream is very important. Your imagination is critical here, let your imagination run wild, visualise the end result of your dream. It has to be clear because your mind will not commit to an image that isn’t clear.
- Keep italways before your eyes.
- If anything tries to distract you go back to viewing the image you have written down to maintain your focus on your goal.
- Maintain the passion till the very end.
- How do you feel about that dream that you have?
